11th July 2019
As you are aware these are times of great change in education. The national and local changes have led to a great deal of discussion on how schools will be organised in the future, not least within our community and locality.
Fremington School’s Governing Body has been considering over the last 3 years, the value of joining a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in light of dwindling and uncertain resources and services available from the Government and Local Authority.
The Governing Body’s main focus during our discussions was to promote the idea of continued excellence in our school for our present children and future generations. The guiding principle during our meetings has been “To secure the future of our school, ensuring the very best possible outcomes for pupils now and in the future”.
In November 2018 following extensive consultation and research the Governing Body voted to join a MAT at some point in the future and on the 3rd July 2019 the Governing Body voted to submit a formal Expression of Interest to join the Tarka Learning Partnership Multi – Academy Trust.
Over the next few months a number of decisions will be taken and formal consultations will take place. We wish for you, as Parents/Guardians to be fully involved, informed and consulted during this process.
We will of course let you know when the Parents/Guardian and Pupil consultations will take place in the new academic year.
We look forward to involving you all in a very positive and exciting future for our school and hope you all have a wonderful summer break.
The Governing Body.
