  • Exploring Australian landmarks & wildlife!

    This half term in Reception, the children have been diving into the fascinating world of Australian landmarks and wildlife! As part of our topic, we explored the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, learning all about the vibrant marine animals and their unique underwater habitats. From colourful fish to graceful sea turtles and swaying coral, the children were captivated by the beauty beneath the ocean’s surface. We recreated the beautiful coral and by using the skills we have learnt throughout the year which include cutting, attaching, sticking, and by drawing our favourite sea creatures by observing different shapes that we could see.

  • Butterfly watch 2025...

    In Reception we have been watching the amazing process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Over the past few weeks, we have watched the caterpillars munch their way through many, many leaves. We then observed them weave silk pads to transform into a cocoon and finally, emerge as beautiful cabbage white butterflies. We have been releasing the butterflies throughout the week and the children enjoyed waving them off. They have also done some fantastic observational drawings of them using pencil and charcoal.
